Customers

As the region’s bulk natural water service provider to the South East Queensland Water Grid, Seqwater’s main customer is the South East Queensland Water Grid Manager.

Seqwater also provides water services to around a thousand rural irrigator customers operating within five water supply schemes.

South East Queensland Water Grid Manager

Water that we catch, store and treat is delivered to the people and businesses of south east Queensland via the South East Queensland Water Grid.

We supply quality water in bulk to the South East Queensland Water Grid Manager, who is our major customer.

The Water Grid Manager makes daily assumptions about water demand, and based on those projections we supply treated water to the Water Grid to meet the needs of communities and businesses.

Irrigators

Seqwater supplies water to rural landholders and businesses with rights to use that water for irrigation.

This water is used to support a wide variety of farming and agriculture, such as orchards, vegetable and fodder crops, dairy and grazing.

These irrigation customers are licensed to take water from dams and waterways managed by Seqwater within the Upper Mary River, Logan River, Warrill Valley, Central Lockyer Valley and  Lower Lockyer Valley schemes.

The amount of water that can be extracted by licensed irrigators varies according to local conditions in waterways. In times of drought or low flows, irrigation entitlements can be restricted or suspended.

Seqwater irrigator customers should visit the page for their region to find out more information about current irrigation entitlements in waterways within these schemes.
